Welcome. I'm hoping to bring the family down to Florida for a Shuttle launch. Its too bad there are only 3 launches left. Is there any hope that NASA will change plans and keep the Shuttle program?

I'm planning on trucking the family down from NY to FL for the September launch. There's nothing quite like visiting FL during hurricane season.

Nice!!! Yeah, September is a FUN time down here....uh. Yeahhhhh. So no Dragoncon for you? I'd love to go to one of the last launches. It's been a long, LONG time since I've seen one, and I really owe it to my astronomer-self to get over there and see it before it's too late.

No DragonCon, at least not this year. I've never been to one, but unfortunately we can't take more than a few days in September either since our oldest starts school right after Labor Day and my wife and I can't take that much time off from work. Had the July launch not been moved to November we would have stayed in FL for up to 2 weeks.

Therein lies the danger with planning to see a shuttle launch. I remember going SO many times during the early 90's to go see a launch, only to miss it. Then, one of the times we woke up in our Coco Beach hotel, only to find that it shot off early that morning. LOL!
Cheers,
Guy
